eVMS Application Modules

eVMS is comprised of three separate application modules that tightly integrate to form a robust utility vegetation management solution. The three application modules are:

  1. eVMS Web

eVMS Web is a browser-based application that creates and manages all work and invoices in eVMS. It provides access to eVMS inventory using an integrated GIS viewer with mapping data that is imported based on each individual project scope. Using queries and/or the integrated predictive model, work can be generated that will ensure the utility remains in vegetation management compliance and avoids fines. The eVMS Web application is accessed via a hosted browser platform.

    eVMS Web Functions
    Database
    • Track physical inventory and changes
    • Add/view/edit layers boundaries
    • Add/view/edit inventory from the office
    Sourcing
    • Sourcing support via electronic bid management or reverse auctions
    • Add, view, and edit contracts
    • Link work to contracts to feed invoicing
    Create Work
    • Track areas for which work is created, pending, completed
    • Create work for poles and vegetation not already in the database
    • Create work for select units based on projected tolerance

    Random Samples
    • Ability to download the random sample of audit records
    Predictive Modeling
    • Calculates Months to Tolerance based on tree growth patterns, irrigation, drought data, etc.
    Process and Manage Work
    • Display work order status
    • Create new work order when audit fails
    Invoicing
    • Billing and approval processing
    • Create sample invoice
    • Modify and generate invoices
    Reporting
    • Inventory reporting

    • Benchmarking - automatic compilation of key data
    • Regulatory reporting
    • Standard and ad hoc reports
    • Budget reporting
    • Productivity reporting
    • Invoice reporting
    • Post-outage analysis
    • Audit packages consisting of a "scientific" random sample of completed listing work
    • Real-time graphs of select tolerance units, tree species, etc.
  2. eVMS Dispatch

eVMS Dispatch is a Windows-based client/server application that manages work order planning, assignment, dispatch and execution. eVMS Dispatch offers an optional integrated map viewer with GPS/AVL for ease in GIS data viewing and order assignment, and resource location in the event of an emergency. The eVMS Dispatch platform is a network-connected Windows 2000 or XP workstation.

    • Predictive early warning based on environmental factors to assess growth and likelihood of failure
    • Work order results processing
    • Work notifications and alerts
    • Manual assignment and dispatch functions
    • Past, present and future work order viewing
    • Resource Availability Management (shifts/work areas and exceptions)
    • Optional manual work order status progression and completion
    • Work order sorting and filtering
    • Emergency order handling and timers
    Integrated Scheduling Engine
    • Automated scheduling by geographic area
    • Geographic area-based routing

    Integrated Map-Based Dispatch
    • Drag and drop order assignment
    • Integrated GPS/Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL)
  3. eVMS Field

eVMS Field is a Windows-based and PocketPC-based application that runs on a ruggedized Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) or PDA. It is used to capture tree inventory data, create work orders, complete work orders, and view GIS data via an integrated map-based view. The eVMS Field platforms are Windows 2000 or XP in wired, wireless, or disconnected modes for MDTs, and Windows CE 3.0 or greater in wired, IP wireless, or disconnected modes for PDAs.
